PM CARES for Children Scheme released today

On Monday at 10:30 a.m., Indias Prime Minister launched incentives below the PM CARES for Children scheme through video conference.

The Prime Minister introduced the PM CARES for Children Scheme on May 29, 2021, to assist children who lost parents, legal guardians, adoptive parents, or surviving parents to the COVID-19 pandemic between March 11, 2020, and February 28, 2022.

The Prime Minister will award scholarships to children who are enrolled in school. PM CARES for Children passbook and Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri health card will be provided to the children all through the program.

The scheme aim at providing kids with long-time care and protection by providing them with proper training with staying facilities, empowering them through education and scholarships, and making them ready for self-sufficiency with the financial assistance of Rs 10 lakhs after they attain the age of 23, and ensuring their health through health insurance.

Since May 2021, 4,302 children who were orphaned during the epidemic have been approved as eligible for benefits out of 9,042 applications received.

Other initiatives include a monthly allocation of Rs 4,000 for every day necessities and would also help children in getting an education loan for professional courses or further education. To register the children, the government developed an online portal. The portal is a single-window system that streamlines the approval procedure in addition to all different child aid.
